Just as Lord Kṛṣṇa was described as sadṛśaṁ patim, an ideal husband for Rukmiṇī, being just like her, Rukmiṇī is described as sadṛśīṁ bhāryām, an ideal wife for Śrī Kṛṣṇa, being just like Him. That is natural, since Śrīmatī Rukmiṇī is Lord Kṛṣṇa’s internal potency.

FAQs

This verse describes Rukmiṇī as the abode of intelligence, auspicious qualities, magnanimity, beauty, good conduct, and virtues—making her perfectly suitable as Kṛṣṇa’s wife.

Śukadeva explains that Kṛṣṇa recognized Rukmiṇī’s exceptional virtues and suitability, and thus fixed His mind on accepting her in marriage.

It highlights valuing character, intelligence, conduct, and inner virtues along with beauty—seeing a partner as a shelter of good qualities rather than only external attraction.
