Kṛṣṇa Comforts His Parents, Restores Ugrasena, Studies with Sāndīpani, and Returns the Guru’s Son
श्रीगुरुरुवाच सम्यक् सम्पादितो वत्स भवद्भयां गुरुनिष्क्रय: । को नु युष्मद्विधगुरो: कामानामवशिष्यते ॥ ४७ ॥
śrī-gurur uvāca samyak sampādito vatsa bhavadbhyāṁ guru-niṣkrayaḥ ko nu yuṣmad-vidha-guroḥ kāmānām avaśiṣyate
The spiritual master said: “My dear boys, you have perfectly fulfilled the disciple’s duty of guru-dakṣiṇā. Indeed, with disciples like you, what desire could still remain for a guru?”
This verse shows that the proper completion of the teacher’s request (guru-niṣkraya/guru-dakṣiṇā) is a sacred duty, and sincere service fully satisfies the guru.
After the two brothers successfully fulfilled their teacher’s request, Sāndīpani Muni blessed them, acknowledging their exemplary discipline, gratitude, and completion of the guru’s recompense.
Honor teachers and mentors through sincere effort, integrity, and completing responsibilities well—offering results with humility rather than seeking recognition.
