Govardhana-dhāraṇa: Kṛṣṇa Lifts Govardhana and Humbles Indra
यशोदा रोहिणी नन्दो रामश्च बलिनां वर: । कृष्णमालिङ्ग्य युयुजुराशिष: स्नेहकातरा: ॥ ३० ॥
yaśodā rohiṇī nando rāmaś ca balināṁ varaḥ kṛṣṇam āliṅgya yuyujur āśiṣaḥ sneha-kātarāḥ
Mother Yaśodā, Mother Rohiṇī, Nanda Mahārāja, and Balarāma, the foremost of the strong, embraced Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Overwhelmed with affection, they bestowed their blessings upon Him.
This verse shows vātsalya-bhakti in action: Yaśodā, Rohiṇī, and Nanda embrace Kṛṣṇa and bless Him, revealing intimate devotion where the Lord is loved as one’s own child.
After Kṛṣṇa protected Vraja, their affection surged; they embraced Him and offered blessings, relieved and emotionally stirred by His safety and His loving protection.
Express devotion through sincere care and gratitude—offer blessings, support, and affectionate remembrance of God’s protection rather than approaching only with fear or formality.
