Varṣā-Śarad Vṛndāvana-Śobha: The Beauty of the Rainy and Autumn Seasons in Vraja
गोपवृद्धाश्च गोप्यश्च तदुपाकर्ण्य विस्मिता: । मेनिरे देवप्रवरौ कृष्णरामौ व्रजं गतौ ॥ २ ॥
gopa-vṛddhāś ca gopyaś ca tad upākarṇya vismitāḥ menire deva-pravarau kṛṣṇa-rāmau vrajaṁ gatau
Hearing this account, the elder cowherd men and the gopīs were astonished, and they concluded that Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, who had come to Vraja, were exalted divine beings.
It says the elder gopas and the gopis, upon hearing certain news, were amazed and concluded that Krishna and Balarama were foremost among divine beings who had come to Vraja.
They were astonished because what they heard revealed extraordinary, godlike qualities and actions, leading them to recognize Krishna and Balarama as supremely divine.
It encourages attentive hearing (śravaṇa): by sincerely hearing about Krishna, faith deepens and one naturally recognizes the Lord’s presence and guidance in one’s life.
