Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma’s Forest Games and the Slaying of Pralamba
आशिषोऽभिगृणन्तस्तं प्रशशंसुस्तदर्हणम् । प्रेत्यागतमिवालिङ्ग्य प्रेमविह्वलचेतस: ॥ ३१ ॥
āśiṣo ’bhigṛṇantas taṁ praśaśaṁsus tad-arhaṇam pretyāgatam ivāliṅgya prema-vihvala-cetasaḥ
They showered Him with blessings and glorified Him, who is worthy of all praise. Their hearts overwhelmed with ecstatic love, they embraced Balarāma as if He had returned from death.
It shows their love is so intense and selfless that they bless, praise, and embrace Kṛṣṇa with hearts overwhelmed—treating His safe return as if He had come back from death.
In the narrative, Kṛṣṇa’s danger has just passed, and their fear for His safety turns into ecstatic relief; their embrace expresses the depth of their attachment and protective affection.
