Parīkṣit’s Questions and the Prelude to Kṛṣṇa’s Advent
Earth’s Burden, Viṣṇu’s Order, and Kaṁsa’s Fear
श्रीशुक उवाच इत्यादिश्यामरगणान् प्रजापतिपतिर्विभु: । आश्वास्य च महीं गीर्भि: स्वधाम परमं ययौ ॥ २६ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca ity ādiśyāmara-gaṇān prajāpati-patir vibhuḥ āśvāsya ca mahīṁ gīrbhiḥ sva-dhāma paramaṁ yayau
Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: Having thus instructed the demigods and pacified Mother Earth with his words, the mighty Brahmā, lord of the Prajāpatis, returned to his own abode, Brahmaloka.
This verse states that Brahmā, after instructing the demigods, consoled the Earth with encouraging words and then returned to his supreme abode.
In the narrative setting of Krishna’s advent, Brahmā guides the demigods on their role in the divine plan and reassures them that the burden of adharma will be removed.
When circumstances feel heavy like a “burden on the earth,” this verse encourages faith that divine guidance arrives; one should stay steady in dharma and take shelter of the Lord’s plan.
