Manvantara Administration: Appointment of Manus, Indras, and the Restoration of Dharma
इन्द्रो भगवता दत्तां त्रैलोक्यश्रियमूर्जिताम् । भुञ्जान: पाति लोकांस्त्रीन् कामं लोके प्रवर्षति ॥ ७ ॥
indro bhagavatā dattāṁ trailokya-śriyam ūrjitām bhuñjānaḥ pāti lokāṁs trīn kāmaṁ loke pravarṣati
Indra, the king of heaven, having received the Bhagavān’s benediction and thus enjoying the mighty prosperity of the three worlds, sustains the beings in all three realms by sending sufficient rain upon every world.
This verse states that Indra causes rain to fall in the world as needed, while protecting the three worlds, by the prosperity and authority granted to him by the Supreme Lord.
To show that demigods function as administrators only through the Lord’s sanction—Indra’s opulence, protection of the worlds, and ability to send rain are all described as gifts from Bhagavān.
Recognize higher order behind nature and leadership: use power and resources in service and protection of others, with humility and gratitude rather than pride.
