The Future Manus and the Avatāras in Their Manvantaras
देवहोत्रस्य तनय उपहर्ता दिवस्पते: । योगेश्वरो हरेरंशो बृहत्यां सम्भविष्यति ॥ ३२ ॥
devahotrasya tanaya upahartā divaspateḥ yogeśvaro harer aṁśo bṛhatyāṁ sambhaviṣyati
Devahotra’s son, named Yogeśvara, will appear from the womb of Bṛhatī as a partial incarnation of Śrī Hari, and he will act for the welfare of Divaspati.
Upahartā is foretold as the son of Devahotra, born from Bṛhatī (wife of Divaspati), described as a partial expansion of Lord Hari and a master of mystic yoga.
“Harer aṁśaḥ” means “a portion/partial expansion of Lord Hari,” indicating a divinely empowered being manifesting with the Lord’s potency for a particular purpose.
It points to disciplined God-centered practice—steady mind, regulated life, and devotion—so that inner strength and clarity support bhakti rather than mere display of mystic ability.
