gālavo dīptimān rāmo droṇa-putraḥ kṛpas tathā ṛṣyaśṛṅgaḥ pitāsmākaṁ bhagavān bādarāyaṇaḥ
O King, in the eighth manvantara the seven sages will be Gālava, Dīptimān, Paraśurāma, Aśvatthāmā the son of Droṇa, Kṛpācārya, Ṛṣyaśṛṅga, and our father Bhagavān Bādarāyaṇa Vyāsa—an incarnation of Nārāyaṇa. At present they dwell in their respective āśramas.
This verse names Gālava, the radiant sage Rāma, Droṇa’s son Aśvatthāmā, Kṛpa, Ṛśyaśṛṅga, and Bādarāyaṇa (Vyāsa) among the revered sages connected with the future manvantara description.
Because the chapter catalogs the great ṛṣis who uphold dharma and transmit divine knowledge across manvantaras; Vyāsa is honored as a foundational compiler and preserver of śāstra.
It highlights the importance of receiving spiritual wisdom through authentic rishi-paramparā—seeking guidance from genuine teachers rooted in śāstra and devotion.
