Release us from mischance, from blameworthy offence; accept with favour the sacrifice, the deathless, and set it fast within us.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (hymn-level attribution varies in anukramaṇī; commonly Atharvan/Angiras lineages in AV 5)
Devata: Dual protective deities (contextually paired guardians; often construed as Agni–Soma or allied protectors in Atharvanic śānti)
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (predominant in AV apotropaic stanzas; exact metrical scan may show Atharvanic flexibility)
