Round thee this garment hast thou put for welfare; thou hast become, verily, the herds’ protector from imprecation. Live thou a hundred years, yea many autumns; and wealth and thriving—wrap them close about thee.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (seer attribution varies by anukramaṇī for this hymn; commonly classed under Atharvan/Angiras strata)
Devata: Vāsaḥ (the garment as a personified protective medium) / Svasti (Auspicious Well-being) with paustika intent
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (with Atharvanic cadence; pāda-structure consistent with anuṣṭubh-type blessing verse)
