śáṃ te agníḥ sahā́dbhir astu śáṃ sómaḥ sahóṣadhībhiḥ | evā́háṃ tvāṃ kṣetriyā́n nírṛtyā jāmíśaṃsād drúho muñcāmi váruṇasya pā́śāt | anāgásaṃ bráhmaṇā tvā kṛṇomi śivé te dyā́vā-pṛthivī ubhé stā́m ||
Weal be to thee: may Agni, with the Waters for his fellows, bring thee welfare; weal be to thee: may Soma, with the Herbs for his companions, bring thee welfare. Thus do I loose thee from the kṣetriya-plague, from Nirṛti, from the near-kin’s evil imprecation, from treachery; I release thee from Varuṇa’s noose. Guiltless by holy spell I make thee: gracious to thee may Heaven and Earth, both twain, stand firm.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often transmitted under Atharvan/Angiras lineages for bhaiṣajya hymns; specific r̥ṣi attribution depends on anukramaṇī tradition).
Devata: Agni, Soma, Oṣadhis (Herbs), Varuṇa (as binder whose bond is removed), Dyāvāpṛthivī; with Nirṛti as the hostile power to be averted.
Chandas: Mixed; predominantly Anuṣṭubh-like cadence with extended pādas (edition-dependent scansion).
