To the Upward Quarter thee we assign—to Bṛhaspati as its Lord, to Śvitra the Guardian, to Rain, arrow-armed. This do we set about us: let it guard us from the assailant. Here may our appointed lot conduct us unto old age; let Age set a fence about us against Death; then, with ripeness, may we together be made whole.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (not specified in excerpt)
Devata: Ūrdhvā Diś; Bṛhaspati; Śvitra; Varṣā; Jarā vs. Mṛtyu
Chandas: Not securely determinable from excerpt alone
