Sukta 3
संख्याता स्तोकाः पृथिवीं सचन्ते प्राणापानैः संमिता ओषधीभिः । असंख्याता ओप्यमानाः सुवर्णाः सर्वं व्याऽपुः शुचयः शुचित्वम्
saṃkhyā́tā stokā́ḥ pṛthivī́ṃ sacante prāṇāpānáiḥ saṃmitā́ óṣadhībhiḥ | asaṃkhyā́tā opyámānāḥ suvarṇā́ḥ sárvaṃ vy-ā́puḥ śúcayaḥ śucitvám ||
Counted drops attach themselves unto Earth, made duly measured with the in-breath and out-breath, with the herbs. Uncounted, being wrought and golden-hued, the pure ones have pervaded all—purity itself.
Rishi: Traditionally associated with Atharvanic seers of the Bhūmi/anna complex (AV 12); specific r̥ṣi attribution varies by anukramaṇī tradition.
Devata: Oṣadhis (Herbs) and Śuci/Śucitva (Purity) as operative powers; implicitly Bhūmi (Earth).
Chandas: Triṣṭubh-like cadence (AV 12 frequently uses mixed/expanded meters; edition-dependent scansion).
{"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"adbhuta","emotional_arc":"From careful measured action to wonder at all-pervading purity.","listener_experience":"Calm cleanliness, then expansive clarity as if the air itself becomes bright.","intensity":4}
