prā́ṇāpānāú cákṣuḥ śrótram ákṣitiś ca kṣítiś ca yā́ | úcchiṣṭāj jajñiré sárve diví devā́ diviśritáḥ ||
In-breath and out-breath, sight and hearing, imperishableness and firm standing—whatsoever these be: from the Leftover were they all brought forth, the Gods who in the heaven abide, heaven-established.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often transmitted under Atharvan/Angiras lineages for this cosmogonic section)
Devata: Ucchiṣṭa (personified ‘Leftover’ as generative principle); secondarily the Devāḥ
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (4 pādas of ~8 syllables; Atharvanic anuṣṭubh with minor irregularities)
{"primary_rasa":"adbhuta","secondary_rasa":"shanta","emotional_arc":"Wonder at ordinary remainder → reverent recognition of its cosmic generativity → calm empowerment.","listener_experience":"Surprise turning into grounded confidence; breath feels meaningful and supported.","intensity":5}
