It combines moral biography (instruction by an ascetic authority) with a named river in the Himalayan frame, typical of Purāṇic blending of ethics and sacred geography.
Puṣyabhadrā river is located on the northern slope/foot of Himādri (the Himālaya). A precise modern identification is uncertain without additional corroborating textual and regional data.
Correct instruction (samyagbodha) and disciplined guidance are presented as catalysts for moral re-formation.
