यदा न ववृधे तस्य ब्रह्मणो मानसि प्रजा । तदा दध्यौ किमेतन्मे न तथा वर्ध्धते प्रजा ॥

yadā na vavṛdhe tasya brahmaṇo mānasī prajā | tadā dadhyau kim etan me na tathā varddhate prajā ||

Als Brahmās geistgeborene Nachkommenschaft nicht anwuchs, sann er nach: „Was ist es bei mir, dass die Nachkommenschaft nicht so wächst, wie sie sollte?“
