The Sovereignty Vow and the Cycle of Tithi-Based Observances

विचित्रैः कुसुमैर्भक्त्या पूजयित्वा द्विजोत्तमान् । दिशां तु प्रार्थनां कुर्यान् मन्त्रेणानेन सुव्रतः । सर्वा भवन्त्यः सिद्ध्यन्तु मम जन्मनि जन्मनि ॥ ६५.३ ॥

vicitraiḥ kusumair bhaktyā pūjayitvā dvijottamān | diśāṃ tu prārthanāṃ kuryān mantreṇānena suvrataḥ | sarvā bhavantyaḥ siddhyantu mama janmani janmani || 65.3 ||

Nachdem er die Vorzüglichsten der Zweimalgeborenen mit vielfältigen Blumen in Hingabe verehrt hat, soll der gelübdetreue, disziplinierte Übende die Himmelsrichtungen mit diesem Mantra anrufen: „Mögen alle Vorhaben, o Ehrwürdige, mir Geburt um Geburt gelingen.“
