Procedure for the Son-Obtaining Vow

Kṛṣṇāṣṭamī Observance

ततो यवैः कृष्णतिलैः सघृतैर्होमयेद्दधि । ब्राह्मणान् भोजयेद् भक्त्या यथाशक्त्या सदक्षिणान् ॥ ६३.५ ॥

tato yavaiḥ kṛṣṇatilaiḥ saghṛtair homayed dadhi | brāhmaṇān bhojayed bhaktyā yathāśaktyā sadakṣiṇān || 63.5 ||

Dann soll man das Homa darbringen mit Gerste (yava) und schwarzem Sesam (kṛṣṇa-tila), vermischt mit Ghee (ghṛta), zusammen mit Dickmilch/Quark (dadhi); und in Hingabe die Brāhmaṇas speisen und ihnen eine angemessene Dakṣiṇā nach eigener Kraft geben.
