Varaha Purana 6.18 — Adhyaya 6, Shloka 18

The Puṇḍarīkākṣapāraka Hymn and Puṣkara Tīrtha: The Account of King Vasu’s Release from Sin

एवं तु वदतस्तस्य मूर्त्तिमान् पुरुषः किल । निर्गत्य देहान्नीलाभो घनचण्डो भयंकरः ॥ ६.१८ ॥

evaṃ tu vadatas tasya mūrttimān puruṣaḥ kila | nirgatya dehān nīlābho ghanacaṇḍo bhayaṃkaraḥ || 6.18 ||

Als er so sprach, heißt es, trat ein personifiziertes Wesen in leiblicher Gestalt aus seinem Körper hervor—dunkelblau wie eine dichte Wolke, wild und furchterregend.

Varāha (default speaker framework; not explicit in excerpt)

Varaha Avatara Context: {"is_varaha_focus":true,"aspect_highlighted":"None","boar_form_detail":"None (the verse describes emergence of a nīlābha, ghana-caṇḍa, bhayaṅkara embodied being, not Varāha’s boar anatomy).","earth_interaction":"None (narrative shift: a manifested being emerges as a consequence of speech; no direct Bhū contact described)."}

Mathura Mandala: {"is_mathura_related":false,"specific_site":"None","parikrama_context":"None","krishna_connection":"Dark-blue (nīlābha) hue can evoke Vaiṣṇava iconography, but here it functions as a terrifying manifested entity; no Mathurā/Kṛṣṇa linkage stated."}

Cosmic Boar Symbolism: {"has_symbolism":true,"symbolic_interpretation":"Ontology of manifestation: speech/intent precipitates embodied forces (personified bhāvas or karmic agencies). The ‘emerging from the body’ motif mirrors Purāṇic externalization of inner potency into a devatā/daitya-like agent.","yajna_varaha_imagery":"Not explicit; only the general Purāṇic idea that powers (śakti/tejas) can become ‘mūrti-mat’ and act in the world, akin to ritual potency becoming effective (phala) when ‘embodied’ as result.","vedantic_connection":"Sāṅkhya-tinged Purāṇic cosmology: subtle causes becoming gross forms; also the idea of tejas/śakti as emanative from a locus (deha) into a distinct agent."}

Philosophical Teaching: {"has_teaching":true,"teaching_type":"Ontology / Moral psychology (personification)","core_concept":"Inner potency or consequence can externalize into an embodied agent; the unseen becomes seen when karmic/narrative conditions ripen.","practical_application":"Treat speech and intention as causally potent; cultivate restraint and purity since outcomes can ‘take form’ and confront the actor."}
