The Obstacle-Removing Vow
Procedure for Worship of Vināyaka
तथा रुद्रेण देवेन त्रिपुरं निघ्नता पुरा । एतदेव कृतं तस्मात् त्रिपुरं तेन पातितम् । मया समुद्रं पिबता एतदेव कृतं व्रतम् ॥ ५९.६ ॥
tathā rudreṇa devena tripuraṁ nighnatā purā | etad eva kṛtaṁ tasmāt tripuraṁ tena pātitam | mayā samudraṁ pibatā etad eva kṛtaṁ vratam || 59.6 ||
Ebenso wurde einst, als der Gott Rudra Tripura erschlug, genau diese Observanz vollzogen; darum wurde Tripura von ihm zu Fall gebracht. Ebenso habe auch ich, als ich den Ozean austrank, eben dieses Gelübde auf mich genommen.
