Varaha Purana 37.27 — Adhyaya 37, Shloka 27

The Threefold Discipline (Mental, Physical, Verbal) and the Salvific Power of Hearing Nārāyaṇa’s Name

इत्युक्तोऽहं पुरा तैस्तु ब्राह्मणैर्वेदपारगैः । तमेव सर्वं संप्राप्तो ब्रह्मशापं सुपुष्कलम् ॥ ३७.२७ ॥

ity ukto 'haṃ purā tais tu brāhmaṇair vedapāragaiḥ | tam eva sarvaṃ saṃprāpto brahmaśāpaṃ supuṣkalam || 37.27 ||

So wurde ich einst von jenen Brāhmaṇas, die die Veden vollkommen beherrschten, so angesprochen; und ich erfuhr diese Folge in ihrer Gänze — einen überaus mächtigen und schweren Brāhmaṇa-Fluch.
