निपातदेशं संगृह्य शुचिदेशे समाहितः॥ नदीकूले निखाते वा प्रेतभूमिं विनिर्देशेत्॥

Nachdem man den Ort, an dem die Gabe niedergelegt werden soll, bestimmt und in einem gereinigten Platz gesammelt verweilt, soll man einen „Preta-Ort“ festlegen — am Flussufer oder an einer ausgehobenen Stelle.
