FAQs

It demonstrates how Purāṇic literature links visual encounter (darśana) with ritual action (pradakṣiṇā) to articulate the value of pilgrimage to prominent sacred cities.

Mathurā (modern Mathura, Uttar Pradesh), presented as a site of a ‘svayambhū’ (self-manifest) deity and associated circumambulatory route(s).

The verse promotes disciplined pilgrimage practice—going to the place, observing the deity, and performing pradakṣiṇā—framed as an intentional, merit-oriented cultural act.
