FAQs

It documents a standardized ritual sequence—clean clothing, bathing, silence, and circumambulation—typical of medieval Sanskrit pilgrimage manuals and Purāṇic māhātmya literature.

The implied setting remains Mathurā, a key sacred landscape in North Indian tradition and in Purāṇic mapping of tīrthas.

The instruction emphasizes bodily cleanliness and speech-restraint (mauna) as ethical disciplines that accompany ritual performance.
