तस्य पुत्रो महाभागो सर्वकर्मपरायणः ॥ वसुदेवो गृहे जातो यादवानाṃ कुलोद्वहः ॥

tasya putro mahābhāgo sarvakarmaparāyaṇaḥ || vasudevo gṛhe jāto yādavānāṃ kulodvahaḥ ||

Sein Sohn war überaus begnadet, allen rechten Pflichten zugetan: In jenem Hause wurde Vasudeva geboren, der erhabene Träger der Yādava-Linie.
