Ritual Procedure for Śrāddha: Sequence, Eligibility, and Offerings to Ancestors

मातामहस्तृप्तिमुपैतु तस्य तथा पिता तस्य पिता ततोऽन्यः । विश्वेऽथ देवाः परमां प्रयान्तु तृप्तिं प्रणश्यन्तु च यातुधानाः ॥ १४.३० ॥

mātāmahas tṛptim upaitu tasya tathā pitā tasya pitā tato 'nyaḥ | viśve 'tha devāḥ paramāṃ prayāntu tṛptiṃ praṇaśyantu ca yātudhānāḥ || 14.30 ||

Möge sein mütterlicher Großvater Zufriedenheit erlangen; ebenso sein Vater, der Vater seines Vaters und sodann die übrigen Ahnen. Und mögen die Viśve-devas zur höchsten Erfüllung gelangen; und mögen die yātudhānas (schädliche, feindselige Geister) ihre Befriedigung verlieren und vertrieben werden.
