A Sūtra-like Manual of Expiations for Ritual Transgressions

पितरस्तस्य नाश्नन्ति वर्षाणि दश पञ्च च ॥ अदत्त्वा यस्तु भुञ्जीत नवन्नानि कदाचन ॥

pitarastasya nāśnanti varṣāṇi daśa pañca ca || adattvā yastu bhuñjīta navannāni kadācana ||

Seine Ahnen nehmen (an den Opfergaben) fünfzehn Jahre lang nicht teil. Und wer, ohne sie dargebracht zu haben, irgendwann die navanna‑Zubereitungen verzehrt, lädt sich Verdienstminderung auf.
