श्मशानं पद्मपत्राक्ष रुद्रस्य च निशि प्रियम् ॥ श्रीवराह उवाच ॥ शृणु तत्त्वेन मे देवि इदमाख्यानमुत्तमम् ॥
śmaśānaṃ padmapatrākṣa rudrasya ca niśi priyam || śrīvarāha uvāca || śṛṇu tattvena me devi idam ākhyānam uttamam ||
„Der Verbrennungsplatz, o du mit Augen wie Lotusblätter, ist Rudra auch in der Nacht lieb.“ Śrī Varāha sprach: „Höre, o Göttin, der Wahrheit gemäß diese vortreffliche Erzählung.“
