Description of the Brāhmaṇa Initiation Procedure

Dīkṣā-sūtra

एवं प्रसादयित्वा तु शिष्यो मन्त्रेण सुन्दरी ॥ वेदिमध्ये स्थापयित्वा भूत्वा पूर्वमुखस्ततः ॥

evaṁ prasādayitvā tu śiṣyo mantreṇa sundari || vedimadhye sthāpayitvā bhūtvā pūrvamukhas tataḥ

So soll der Schüler, nachdem er (den Guru) durch das Mantra gnädig gestimmt hat—o Schöne—(das Erforderliche) in die Mitte der Vedi (des Altars) setzen und dann, nach Osten gewandt, fortfahren.
