Description of the Brāhmaṇa Initiation Procedure

Dīkṣā-sūtra

भार्यां प्रियसखीं यस्तु साध्वीं हिंसति निर्घृणः ॥ न तेन तां प्राप्नुवन्ति हिंसका दुष्टयोनिजाः

bhāryāṁ priya-sakhīṁ yas tu sādhvīṁ hiṁsati nirghṛṇaḥ || na tena tāṁ prāpnuvanti hiṁsakā duṣṭa-yonijāḥ

Wer, ohne Erbarmen, seine Gattin verletzt – die geliebte Gefährtin und tugendhafte Frau (sādhvī) –, durch den wird das wahre Heil dieses Bandes nicht erlangt; Gewalttätige werden in erniedrigten Leibern und Verhältnissen wiedergeboren.
