The Merit and Ritual Procedure of Donating a Jaggery Cow
Guḍadhenu
अनृतं नाशमायाति गुडधेनो द्विजार्पिता । दीयमानां प्रपश्यन्ति ते यान्ति परमां गतिम् ॥ यत्र क्षोरवहा नद्यः घृतपायसकर्दमाः । ऋषयो मुनयः सिद्धास्तत्र गच्छन्ति धेनुदाः ॥
anṛtaṃ nāśam āyāti guḍadheno dvijārpitā | dīyamānāṃ prapaśyanti te yānti paramāṃ gatim || yatra kṣoravahā nadyaḥ ghṛtapāyasakardamāḥ | ṛṣayo munayaḥ siddhās tatra gacchanti dhenudāḥ ||
Die Unwahrheit geht zugrunde, wenn die guḍadhenu einem Zweimalgeborenen (Brāhmaṇa) dargebracht wird. Wer ihre Gabe mit eigenen Augen sieht, erlangt den höchsten Zustand. Wo Flüsse Milch führen und ihr Schlamm aus Ghee und Milchreis besteht, dorthin gehen ṛṣis, munis und siddhas; in jenes Reich gelangen die Spender von Kühen.
