Avadhuta Upanishad 9 — Verse 9

यथा रविः सर्वरसान् प्रभुङ्क्ते हुताशनश्चापि हि सर्वभक्षः । तथैव योगी विषयान् प्रभुङ्क्ते न लिप्यते पुण्यपापैश्च शुद्धः ॥९॥

यथा । रविः । सर्व-रसान् । प्रभुङ्क्ते । हुताशनः । च । अपि । हि । सर्व-भक्षः । तथा । एव । योगी । विषयान् । प्रभुङ्क्ते । न । लिप्यते । पुण्य-पापैः । च । शुद्धः ॥९॥

yathā raviḥ sarvarasān prabhuṅkte hutāśanaścāpi hi sarvabhakṣaḥ | tathaiva yogī viṣayān prabhuṅkte na lipyate puṇyapāpaiś ca śuddhaḥ ||9||

Wie die Sonne alle Essenzen an sich zieht und wie das Feuer wahrlich alles verzehrt, so genießt auch der Yogin die Gegenstände; rein, wird er weder von Verdienst noch von Schuld befleckt.

As the sun consumes (draws up) all essences, and as fire indeed is an eater of all, so too the yogin consumes objects; being pure, he is not tainted by merit and demerit.
