Type: kshetra
Listener: Īśvara (as respondent in next verse)
Scene: A respectful interlocutor, now calm after hearing prior narration, folds hands and asks the Lord to explain first the glory of the sacred field and then the greatness of Bhava (Śiva).
Māhātmya is not only geography but theology: a kṣetra’s power is inseparable from the deity whose presence sanctifies it.
Vastrāpatha Kṣetra within Prabhāsa, whose prabhāva Pārvatī requests Śiva to explain.
No ritual instruction appears; the verse requests an authoritative exposition of prabhāva (spiritual efficacy) and its cause.
