यदा स मार्यमाणोऽपि मृत्युं प्राप्नोति न क्वचित् । हिरण्यकशिपोर्वक्षो दह्यते क्रोधवह्निना । तदा शिक्षयितुं पुत्रं मुखाग्रे संनिवेश्य च

yadā sa māryamāṇo'pi mṛtyuṃ prāpnoti na kvacit | hiraṇyakaśiporvakṣo dahyate krodhavahninā | tadā śikṣayituṃ putraṃ mukhāgre saṃniveśya ca

Als er, obwohl wiederholt angegriffen, auf keine Weise den Tod fand, brannte Hiranyakashipus Brust im Feuer des Zorns. Da er seinen Sohn zu „züchtigen“ wünschte, setzte er ihn vor sein Angesicht.
