विलयं यांति पापानि जन्मकोटिकृतान्यपि । वृथा संन्यासिनां पुण्यं वृथा च वनवासिनाम्

vilayaṃ yāṃti pāpāni janmakoṭikṛtānyapi | vṛthā saṃnyāsināṃ puṇyaṃ vṛthā ca vanavāsinām

„Sünden—selbst solche, die in zehn Millionen Geburten begangen wurden—lösen sich auf. Gegenüber diesem wirkt das Verdienst der Entsagenden wie vergeblich, und ebenso das Verdienst der Waldasketen wie vergeblich.“
