पूर्वं कृतयुगस्यांते बलिना च पुरंदरः । निर्जित्य भ्रंशितः स्थानात्तदर्थं मधुसूदनः

Transliteration

pūrvaṃ kṛtayugasyāṃte balinā ca puraṃdaraḥ | nirjitya bhraṃśitaḥ sthānāttadarthaṃ madhusūdanaḥ

Translation

Einst, am Ende des Kṛta-Yuga, wurde Indra, der Zerstörer der Festungen, von Bali besiegt und aus seiner Stellung gestürzt; zu diesem Zweck griff Madhusūdana ein, um die Ordnung wiederherzustellen.
