Tirtha: Mahāliṅga to be known as Maṇikarṇikā-liṅga
Type: temple
Listener: Śaunaka et al. (frame implied)
Scene: Maṇikarṇikā speaks with resolve, pointing gently toward a prominent liṅga; sages listen attentively; the liṅga appears ‘great’—taller, with garlands and bilva leaves; the tīrtha water glints nearby.
The highest boon sought by the virtuous is lasting sacred remembrance that supports others’ devotion.
A Mahāliṅga at Arbuda is requested to be established in fame under the name “Maṇikarṇikā.”
No explicit ritual; the focus is on naming and sanctifying a liṅga as a dharmic legacy.
