वृत्र उवाच । यावत्तिष्ठति सुत्रामा तावन्नास्ति सुखं मम । तस्मान्निष्कंटकार्थाय यतिष्येऽहं द्विजोत्तम

vṛtra uvāca | yāvattiṣṭhati sutrāmā tāvannāsti sukhaṃ mama | tasmānniṣkaṃṭakārthāya yatiṣye'haṃ dvijottama

Vṛtra sprach: „Solange Sutrāmā (Indra) besteht, gibt es für mich kein Glück. Darum werde ich mich bemühen, um alles dornenfrei (ohne Rivalen) zu machen, o Bester der Zweimalgeborenen.“
