भरद्वाज उवाच । जीर्यंति जीर्यतः केशा दंता जीर्यंति जीर्यतः । चक्षुः श्रोत्रे तथा पुंसस्तृष्णैका तरुणायते

bharadvāja uvāca | jīryaṃti jīryataḥ keśā daṃtā jīryaṃti jīryataḥ | cakṣuḥ śrotre tathā puṃsastṛṣṇaikā taruṇāyate

Bharadvāja sprach: Wenn der Mensch altert, altern seine Haare; seine Zähne altern; auch Augen und Ohren altern. Doch allein die tṛṣṇā — die dürstende Begierde — bleibt in ihm ewig jung.
