Indra (Sahasrākṣa), within Sūta’s narration context
Tirtha: Nāga-tīrtha
Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇas (viprāḥ)
Scene: A devotee offers simple sattvic food near the tīrtha after confession of inadvertent dietary fault; the narrator’s words appear as a protective aura, signifying release from ‘bhakṣa-jāta’ sins.
Sacred recitation and tīrtha-related devotion function as prāyaścitta, even for inadvertent faults.
The same Nāga-tīrtha/Nāgahrada whose māhātmya is being taught.
No new rite is added; the verse emphasizes the purificatory result (release from diet-related sins) through the māhātmya.
