Transliteration

yājñavalkya uvāca | nāhaṃ yāsyāmi taddharmye śāṃtyarthaṃ dvijapuṃgava | anādareṇa dṛṣṭo'haṃ nāśīrme ca samāhṛtā

Translation

Yājñavalkya sprach: „Ich werde nicht dorthin gehen, o Vornehmster unter den Brāhmaṇen, um jenes besänftigende Ritual zu vollziehen. Man blickte mich geringschätzig an, und mir wurde keinerlei Ehre erwiesen.“
