Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 37

लोकद्वयविनाशः स्याद्यतश्चेतो न शुध्यति । प्रावृट्कालेऽपि संप्राप्ते दुर्भिक्षेण प्रपीडिताः

lokadvayavināśaḥ syādyataśceto na śudhyati | prāvṛṭkāle'pi saṃprāpte durbhikṣeṇa prapīḍitāḥ

Es käme zum Verderben in beiden Welten (hier und im Jenseits), weil der Geist nicht gereinigt wird. Selbst wenn die Regenzeit eintritt, werden die Menschen von Hungersnot bedrängt.
