इद्रियाणां ग्रहः कार्यस्तपसो लक्षणं परम् । निवृत्त्येंद्रियलौल्यं च चातुर्मास्ये महत्तपः

idriyāṇāṃ grahaḥ kāryastapaso lakṣaṇaṃ param | nivṛttyeṃdriyalaulyaṃ ca cāturmāsye mahattapaḥ

Die Zügel der Sinne sind zu ergreifen; dies ist das höchste Kennzeichen der Askese (tapas). Sich von der sinnlichen Unrast abwenden—das ist großes tapas in der Zeit des Cāturmāsya.
