ऊषरे वापि तं सस्यं तुषाणां कण्डनं कृतम् । कुलाचारसमोपेतांस्तस्माच्छ्राद्धे नियोजयेत्

ūṣare vāpi taṃ sasyaṃ tuṣāṇāṃ kaṇḍanaṃ kṛtam | kulācārasamopetāṃstasmācchrāddhe niyojayet

Wie Getreide, das auf dürrem, salzigem Boden wächst, nur zerstoßene Spreu ist, so werden auch Riten hohl ohne rechte Maßstäbe. Darum soll man für das Śrāddha jene bestimmen, die mit den guten Bräuchen ihres Geschlechts ausgestattet sind.
