Pitṛgaṇa (Ancestors), requesting their due portion
Type: kshetra
Listener: Rājendra (king) implied by subsequent verses
Scene: A group of Pitṛs, subtle and radiant, petition for their rightful share of the śrāddha-kavya; the human performer stands with kuśa and water-vessel, the atmosphere solemn and auspicious.
Rites are reciprocal in Purāṇic dharma: when ancestors receive their due share, they become a source of welfare and auspiciousness for the family.
This verse highlights śrāddha-dharma within the tīrtha-framework; it does not name a particular location in this line.
Give the proper ‘vibhāga’ (portion) of kavya—i.e., śrāddha offerings/tarpaṇa dedicated to the Pitṛs.
