Pitṛgaṇa (the Ancestors), speaking in a narrative context prior to Brahmā’s direct speech
Type: kshetra
Scene: Descendants in ritual posture offer water and piṇḍas with steady concentration; above them, pitṛs appear serene and satisfied, receiving the subtle essence of offerings through devatā mediation.
Ancestors are spiritually ‘sustained’ and satisfied when descendants perform offerings with sincerity and mental focus.
The verse occurs within the Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya setting; the immediate shloka emphasizes pitṛ-dharma more than naming a single tirtha in this line.
Tarpaṇa/offerings (and allied śrāddha-style giving) performed by descendants with a composed mind (samāhita).
