विश्वामित्र उवाच । एतत्ते सर्वमाख्यातं यत्पृष्टोऽस्मि नृपोत्तम । श्राद्धार्हा नागरा येन नागराणां व्यवस्थिताः । भर्तृयज्ञेन मर्यादा कृता तेषां यथा पुरा

viśvāmitra uvāca | etatte sarvamākhyātaṃ yatpṛṣṭo'smi nṛpottama | śrāddhārhā nāgarā yena nāgarāṇāṃ vyavasthitāḥ | bhartṛyajñena maryādā kṛtā teṣāṃ yathā purā

Viśvāmitra sprach: O Bester der Könige, all dies habe ich dir dargelegt, wie du mich fragtest—wie die Nāgaras als würdig für das Śrāddha gelten und wie die Nāgaras rechtmäßig geordnet sind. Die Grenze ihres rechten Wandels wurde durch das Bhartṛyajña festgesetzt, wie in früheren Zeiten.
