Scene: Maheśvara addresses an assembly of devas/ṛṣis, announcing a secret of how true satisfaction is attained beyond mere ritual portions.
Beyond formal shares, a deeper dharmic method brings true fulfillment—Śiva prepares to reveal the correct principle.
The tīrtha-māhātmya setting frames the teaching, though this verse itself is doctrinal rather than geographical.
An instruction is introduced: Śiva will describe a practice that yields satisfaction surpassing ordinary yajña-portions.
