अहमासं पुरा कन्या पुरे कुसुमसंज्ञिते । वीरसेनस्य शूद्रस्य वणिक्पुत्रस्य धीमतः । तेन दत्ताऽस्मि धर्मेण विवाहार्थं महात्मना
ahamāsaṃ purā kanyā pure kusumasaṃjñite | vīrasenasya śūdrasya vaṇikputrasya dhīmataḥ | tena dattā'smi dharmeṇa vivāhārthaṃ mahātmanā
„Einst war ich ein Mädchen in einer Stadt namens Kusuma. Jenem edlen Mann zufolge wurde ich dem weisen Vīrasena — aus einer Kaufmannslinie geboren und von Śūdra-Stand — nach dem Dharma zur Ehe gegeben.“
